About this learning simulator

Jungle Taps is a browser-based interactive teaching aid that models tropical rainforest productivity through a simplified, playable abstraction. Learners record observations, deploy species, and study exponential growth in a controlled sandbox environment. Each species in the catalogue represents a real member of tropical rainforest ecosystems โ€” howler monkeys, macaws, sloths, jaguars, forest elephants, cloud-forest weather systems, and long-term ecological research installations. The simulator is offline-first, requires no login, collects no personal data, and stores learner progress only in the local browser.

Suggested pairings: introductory ecology, environmental science, biodiversity units, and lessons on exponential growth and compound effects. Reviewed for classroom use.
